There seem to be a few people reporting niggles with the K70 recently (aperture block, crashes). I know the early K5s & K3s had issues whereas the KP has had no inherent or reoccurring faults that I know of.

The key word there is "few" regarding the problems. If my camera has a small "niggle" or glitch that only occurs once in a few thousand shots, I can live with that. With the KP out of production and the K-70 still selling, I'll consider the K-70 a good choice.

Exactly. I can't see the K70 getting up to K30 failure numbers, and its not terminal, the fix costs maybe £150, unlike the A7iii shutter which is a £700-800 job.

I might bite the bullet and get the new k3 III
Maybe … maybe not!
It really does depend if you'll benefit from the extra features that come with the K-3iii at the expense of the tilting screen and built-in flash of the other two models.
The image quality really isn't that much different, though obviously the more sophisticated the camera the more opportunities the knowledgeable photographer has of making a good picture
Whatever decision you finally make … enjoy

One thing to consider living in a cold climate (Minneapolis resident here) is battery life in below freezing temps.

I have the KP that has the optional battery grip that can use the larger and more cold resilient
D-li90 batteries. (Standard battery in all the k5,k3 series, K1)

K70 doesn’t have a grip option and your stuck with the small di109 batteries that don’t like subzero temps. You can brings extra batteries but I don’t like opening the camera after walking around for an hour or two in those temps.

Both will take great pictures 😀
