The K1 is my first digital Pentax camera. In former times, I owned a Pentax MX and was very satisfied.

You’ll have found the K-1 to be a very different camera from the MX, in size as well as function. Both have admirers here.

Welcome! I went on a buying spree this year and now I own both a K-1 and a very recently acquired MX. The K-1 is an excellent camera that will last you a while. I was a little surprised by how much I like the MX (the viewfinder puts the K-1 to shame) after running only half a roll of film through it.

Welcome Christian. The K-1 might be getting a little dated, but I can't really conceive of how an update will offer me more than the K-1 already does. So a good choice. Hope you enjoy it...

The K-1 is a great camera. I don't have a MX but do have a ME Super that sees daylight occasionally. The K-1 may not have as bright a viewfinder but it certainly makes up for it in many ways.
