Hello to all from France.
It had been some time since I visited your forum, because it is a real mine of information, explanations, a place of exchanges with superb photos.
I started taking pictures in the 1970s with an Instamatic Kodak 314. Then I bought a Minolta X300 with which I had excellent years (aperture priority and manual) and learned to develop myself the film and photos.
In 2007, I was offered the small digital Pentax E30 with which I photographed my fishing trips (it still works). This prompted me in 2014 to buy a K30 that I loved for its simplicity and grip, but it was the victim of black photos syndrome. After repair, I sold it and took a used K3 that works very well but whose climb in ISO after 3200 is a little disappointing I find.
Photography is a pleasure for me, I especially love nature and sport.
Thank you for your welcome.

Welcome to the forum. We look forward for your contriubtiions, with posts and photos.
The K-3 is a very able camera body in my opiniion.. A strength of Pentax is the backward compatibility of lenses, and Pentax offers some superb prime lenses up to and including 100mm, e.g. the FA limited series, DA Limited pancake series, some DA* primes.
Welcome .... from down under.

Try using a post processing tool like DXO deep prime to reduce noise on the k-3 files at high iso. It will help. The KP is also a good option if high iso is desired.

Thank you for your welcome and your answers.
Perhaps the answer to this rise in isos comes from myself: it is especially visible with a sigma 120-400 4.5-5.6 in the late afternoon early evening for bird photos (stabilized but dimly lit).
With a 50 mm 1.8 or the 21 mm 3.2 it's much better, but the usefulness is not identical.
In macro, the old M 100 mm f:1.4 also works very well (although it dates from 1979).
It's true that the Pentax software delivered with it is a little tight, so I'm going to try the DXO deep prime and show some supporting photos when I have it in hand.
Otherwise, the device is solid and gives confidence.
