Hi from Ames, Iowa

Hello,

Long term lurker but only newly registered! Hi. I'm Fred, I'm a British guy currently living in Ames, Iowa (grad school...). My first Pentax was a K-50, which I loved apart from its damn aperture block magnet (had to replace mine twice with eBay-bought parts) and, while the K-50 has been sold on, I've since amassed a selection of older Pentax film cameras including a Spotmatic II, a PZ-1P, and, best of all, an LX. I also have a K-5, which I recently managed to drop and break, which I'm quite annoyed about as I really loved the pictures it put out (especially at night - somehow it renders more pleasingly than my Sony A7). Anyway, pleased to finally be a proper member of this thriving community!

Bloody freezing! I was living in Scotland before moving here but this midwestern winter is something else. Many thanks for sharing that LX thread, seems like a fantastic source of info

They just feel so good in the hand - dense, weighty, compact. And that viewfinder is something else.
