Penax User Since 1967

I bought my first Pentax in 1967, and over the years have used numerous models of the brand. However, my last two cameras had an issue with the aperture and made using the camera quite annoying and problematic. I have a nice collection of Pentax lenses I'd like to use, but I don't want to buy another body with the same or more problems. Does the K3 III have those pesky aperture issues? Thanks.

I'm still figuring out where to post, but I wanted to give a quick intro and ask my question about the K3-III as I'd like to make a buying decision soon.

Hello from Denmark, and welcome to the forum! To the best of my knowledge, the top-tier models from Pentax do not have the aperture issue. The K5s, the K3s, the K1s and the KP are 'safe'. Only the K1ii and the K3iii are available new, the rest will be 'experienced'. Hope you find a camera and get to enjoy your lenses.

No, the K3iii is not known to have the aperture block issue. That is specific to the lower end models, like K-S1, K-S2, K-500, K-30, K-50, and K-70.

Just a few minutes ago I received the K3 that was ordered yesterday. Fast service.

Pulled out my lenses last night, ordered some SD cards, and am about ready to open the box and see what UPS brought.
