Hello From Michigan

I retired a year ago , and decided to take a photography class at JCC, (local college). I have been wanting to study photography for a long time. In the class I met someone with a Pentax K10D and was sold. Last year for Christmas I got one. This year for Christmas I got a AF-360FGZ flash. I just downloaded instructions for the flash unit. If anyone wants to give me heads up on using the flash unit, I will gladly listen. I am still learning a lot about photography. Today I happened to find this forum and decided to join. Love my camera.

I don't have this flash but Pentax DSLRs: Pentax Flash Photography tutorials. links to some online video tutorials and in terms of flash photography in general you should not miss Strobist: Lighting 101.

Thanks for the pointer on the Flash tutorials. I am still wondering why I never thought of looking into Pentax forums before today.

Oh that sounds nice and warm. 25 degrees out here today. If it was not so cold I would like to go out and take pictures. My daughter and family live in Highland Park. Husband and I moved to Jackson, MI a year after we got married. We both recently retired.

Hello from another from Michigan. Welcome to the group. I am sure you will find LOTS of info and help here on the group. There are quite a few from MI here. One of these days in the spring, we should all get together and do a shoot somewhere (and probably chat over dinner and a few refreshments too).

Good luck with the shooting and learning. As probably most would say, the best learning comes from going out and taking pictures.

Welcome.
Scott

Thanks Scott,
I know I spend time going over my pictures trying to learn how to shoot them better. It will come with time.
Even though spring sounds like a century away, great idea to get Pentax users together for food. I just joined the Jackson Camera Club, but have not found any Pentax users in it. Groan, they do not know what they are missing.
