Greetinngs from Western NC

Hello folks!
Just getting back into photography and just bought a like-new K-5IIs. Love it! I come from the film days and I'm looking forward to using my collection of Takumars and Helios glass with the K-5IIs.

My backgound in photography was more behind an enlarger lens instead of a camera lens. I spent quite a few years tuning Kodak S-Printers and custom printing 30x40s. Needless to say, I'm more comfortable in Lightroom than looking through a camera lens, so I have a lot to read and learn in this awesome forum!

I did have a Pentax film rig years back, but recently, I bought a Fuji X-E2 and some adapters to use my vintage glass. I started looking around for a backup and began researching Pentax. I was instantly attracted to the IBIS -- even in entry level models! Also, the focus assist for manual lenses was a super appealing feature for my close to retirement aged eyes. I think the X-E2 is going to turn out to be the backup!

Looking forward to learning from this great resource and collection of cool folks!

From the first tests out in the garden today with the K-5IIs adapted with SMC Takumar 55 1.8.

Welcome to Pentax Forums. I also have a Pentax K-5IIs, along with two other Pentax digital cameras (later models). It is capable of excellent images.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks!
I'm 30 minutes south of Asheville -- between Asheville and Brevard. It's a great place to live, for sure. The Shenandoah Valley is a quite beautiful place as well!

A truly lovely area. Many years ago I courted a young lady who lived in Brevard, so that area holds special memories for me. And welcome to Pentax Forums, a most valuable resource.
