Hello from the sunny south! (USA)

Hi everyone,

Long time reader, just decided to register. I'm a tinkerer in general and own an assortment of different cameras which I enjoy shooting older manual lenses with. Most recently on the advice of this forum I got a D200 to try out it's CCD sensor and I'm happy with the results so far and eyeing a K10D next.

Attached are a few test shots I did today with my new toy.

Oh thank you, here's a couple more I took this morning, missed critical focus by a hair on the bees head, all freehand using an extension tube on a pre-ais 55mm F3.5 micro nikkor.

Not too bad for a 60 year old lens on a 17 year old camera if I do say so myself.

What do you guys think of that default output on the D200? I believe I had the standard VI image "customization" (D200 verbiage for picture manager) in place for the bee.

Thank you, the first one is my cat of eight years, the other one is my neighbors, he showed up when we moved here and decided he liked us better after discovering he could extort us for food and comfort, since then he's been a resident in and around my workshop and makes for a convenient test subject of photography
