Welcome from Wrocław (Poland)

Hi everybody
My first Pentax digital camera was K-01 but after a kajak accident survived only: memory card, battery and DA Limited 21 mm.
Now I'm using K5IIs with three Limiteds - 21mm, 35mm Macro and 70mm and I consider buying K3III.
My question is: does K3III sensor outperform these three lenses. If not I will stay with my trusted k5IIs. Focusing speed is not my priority.
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Welcome to the forum!
I doubt that there can be any argument that the K-3iii will bring more from those lenses than the K5IIs.
I have not seen any comparisons though, so as to how much better you'll get from the sensor in the K-3iii I can't say.
But, you are, of course, comparing 6192 x 4128 pixel vs 4928 x 3264 pixel sensors.

Welcome to the forum, enjoy all that it has to offer.

I’m sorry I do not have any personal experience of either camera or these lenses.

Thanks guys for your replies. I can only imagine 1.27x smaller pixels. Seems the pixels are bigger than aberration blur.

Welcome to the forum!

I have a K-01, a K-5 IIs and now a K-3 III. I also have the DA 21mm. So I might be a good person to answer.

The K-5 IIs has really good image quality up to iso 1600, so to be honest I don't notice huge image quality improvements for the K-3 III up to that level. However, you can go several stops further with the K-3 III and get a clean image.

I have a lot of low to mid price DA lenses and I don't find that the moderate increase in pixel density is straining the lenses. I guess you could find you notice things at 100% magnification that didn't notice before, but the three lenses you listed are really good performers and I think they'll be great on the K-3 III too.

I'm also not obsessed with fast focus, but with the K-3 III I get far fewer out of focus shots and I love the more responsive feel in general. I find the wi-fi implementation quite usable and use it for sharing family shots where I used to use my cellphone in the past.

Also the new bigger viewfinder is something you can appreciate every time you take a shot.

Thank you. Probably I go the wrong path. From what I see, the main advantage of K3III sensor is better high ISO performance. It counts.
