Hi im ivan =merge=

im new to this site...and i was wondering if anyone know how to get a DSLR to take a photo like an old film camera...were things arent in so much detail...bold colors.

Welcome to the forum, aye it's possible to get some not so sharp imagery, use a filter on the lens with thin layer of vaseline smeared on.

You can vary the effect depending on how much you clout on.

Also many other effects can be added at post production stage with software like Photoshop and others.

Welcome Ivan. As Kerrowdown suggests you can soften images with filters and also with software. Or just buy a 'so-so' lens. But you'll come to like the resolution of the new camera and do most of that in software when you want to.

For a cheap way to edit and modify images, Try Paint.NET - Free Software for Digital Photo Editing It's a freeware program that offers a lot of what Photoshop does. Make sure you visit the forums for lots of filters and plug in effects that you can add to modify your shots just about any way you want to.
