Joining to say thank you

I've been a guest lurker here for about 18 months. I just thought it might be time I join and say hello.

I've had a Pentax K100D since July 07 which I got to replace a very dissapointing Olympus SP550UZ Bridge Camera. I've been thoroughly impressed by my Pentax and the Samsung GX10 (K10D clone) that I added to it a month ago.

I tend to buy on a bit of a budget (I have difficulty justifying too much on a single lens) and I enjoy using the old manual lenses as well.

So far I've bought and use - roughly in order:
K100D with Da 18-55mm Kit Lens
Tamron 70-300mm LD Di
Samsung Schneider D-Xenon 50-200mm
Pentax SMC-M 50mm F1.7
Pentax SMC FA 28-80mm F3.5-5.6
Soligor 400mm F6.3 (which I've had since the 1970s originally with M42 T mount)
Cosina 90mm F3.5 Macro (Manual)
Tamron 18-250mm LD IF F3.5-6.3
Kenko Teleplus 1.5x Teleconverter
Sigma Ex 105mm F2.8 DG (Won this in a competition)
Samsung GX10

I've got quite a lot of other older M42 lenses from my 35mm days as well as ebay acquisitions that need to go back on ebay!.

I'm now waiting for delivery from ebay of a Sigma Superside II 24mm F2.8 - reports and examples on this site indicate it's quite a nice lens. Be interesting to see if that holds up in practice.

I'm part way through a degree course in Creative Arts specialising in photography.

I've seen a lot of really helpful advice here for Pentax (Samsung) photographers and just wanted to re-iterate my thanks to all those who have provided that excellent resource.

It is indeed. It's quite thought provoking and I really should send more time on it than I do, but work and other commitments alwasys seem to get in the way.

I started the first module (of 7) in March, and am about 2/3rds through that module.

Welcome, Neil,
Clearly you suffer from serious and quite possibly incurable LBA! You'll feel right at home here....
Lovely shot indeed. There are lots of B&W fans here and I'd say you have lots to contribute. Looking forward to that.

From what I can see from your brooding shot, there is no more reason to lurk. Welcome to the family. I am looking forward to seeing more of your work.
