Introducing myself

Decades ago I enjoyed photography on my Pentax Spotmatic. Still have it. Never use it. Shows just how old I really am.

A few years ago I inherited a Pentax K-5 and some lenses from my deceased twin brother, an avid amateur photographer. Some thinks (like composition) work the same on a digital camera as on a film one, but the technology is a lot different. I'm working my way up the learning curve.

Here's a recent telephoto shot from a vacation trip to Olympic National Park:

Welcome to the forums, sorry about your brother. K-5 was my very first camera and it's quite capable even today, especially for landscape photography. Hopefully you'll start shooting again

My wife still shoots with her K-5, for 4k images, it's just as good as my K-1 or K-3. If anything holds you back, it won't be the camera. Good luck figuring it out.
