New to the forum but not new to Pentax

Hi---

I've been a Pentax camera user for far too long to mention. I have lots of Pentax kit. I upgraded from my K5iis to K3iii and now I really miss the straightforward ergonomics of the K5iis (I doubt the K3iii can ever replace the K5iis in my heart). I suppose I will have to join the forum to find out how this new complex camera actually works. Nowadays I mostly shoot birds using the excellent 150-450.

I jumped from K5 to K3II, and now the K3III replaced the K5 as my second body while carrying two setups. The only thing I really miss is the dreamy rendering of the K5's sensor. The K3III is sharper, better focusing, better response etc. but the Sony 16MP sensor has a more film-like rendering. Of course the K5 still had the AA filter

I did find it a bit confusing with two different button setups on the K5 vs. K3. It wasn't too bad, but there were things I liked about the K5 interface.

You'll get used to the K3 setup, it's a great camera.

I just bought the K3iii ebook, looks like it will be very helpful. The difference between the K5 and K3 is subtle, I have so much muscle memory to retrain!
