I was really lucky as the camera film advance lever worked , camera fired as it should . The rewind lever was missing and I replaced it with one from a spare parts camera. It was missing the battery cap/cover also replaced from the spare. The rear door had some corrosion so I replaced it also. I bought a replacement light seal kit as all the seals were "gone", dried up and gunking up the camera insides. After a thorough cleaning and light lube it looks great and fires smoothly. The spare parts cameras all have the issues you described , and despite watching numerous utube videos covering the fixes, that remains out of my wheelhouse.
