Unfortunately, growing up in Columbus, I've been programmed to hate Michigan, even though as young teen we lived in Windsor Ontario and most of my good friends were the kids of profs at UM and I spent more time in the Michigan Student Centre in Ann Arbor than I did in the one at OSU. I have many memories of sitting with my Michigan buddies in Ann Arbor, watching the Ohio State football team lose, again, and getting no sympathy whatsoever.

See what happens when someone from Ohio hears the word Michigan? The "State Up North" is preferable. It's even scarier because I left Columbus when I was 10, Brainwash them early and it will last a lifetime.
