Back to my roots.

Hello, my names Graham and I'm here in the UK.

I'm returning to my roots with some manual film cameras!

I started in 1980/81 with a Pentax ME Super bought for me by my parents & I absolutely loved that camera & photography.

Moving on a couple of years I bought a second ME Super in black, (very rare in the UK at the time as it was for the Asian market). + me II winders.

I was lucky enough to gain some employment via the local papers & progressed to Pentax LX's with motor drives for the sport I'd been asked to start covering.

A few years later I was working freelance for regional & national papers & so my love affair with Pentax ended as I was forced into switching to Nikon for the use of the long glass lenses in the papers "lens pools".

Now after 30+ years of sports/news photography, (I'm still active but semi retired), I've decided to pursue film photography again & my first purchase was actually a Nikon FM2 with MD12 drive & 50mm 1.8,(absolutely mint unused)!! bought because obviously, I have dozens of Nikon lenses.

My itch however wasn't scratched! & I knew I had to buy another Pentax! so I ummed and ahrred which way to go, should I buy a ME Super & go full circle?,(had to be black), or back to an LX? (bloody expensive!).
I knew I'd end up with a drive on it as that's the format I've got use to & the ME winder II was pretty poor on the ME Super & the LX drive was insane at eating film, (and expensive).
So, I've bought the one in between a Pentax Super A with 1.7 50mm lens + I've got coming in a couple of days the "stack of primes" Pentax A 35 - 105 f3.5 Macro.

To finish it off I'm now on the look out for a Pentax Super A motor drive & battery pack so if anyone has one their willing to part with for not too silly money please DM me.

Scratch that!, I've located a near mint motor drive & battery pack so feeling fulfilled LOL..

Looking forward to using the forum. Kind Regards Graham.

I grew up on my ME Super gifted as a graduation gift by my parents in 1983. I suggest you enter the Pentax digital world. It is pretty good. And, you can use your analog Pentax K-Mount lenses.

Welcome aboard!

Hi mroeder.
Thanks for the welcome.
I don't think I'll be buying anymore digital SLR's tbh, I have I think 7 Nikon ones already!😆. My wife would kill me if I started another collection.
