Hey everyone,

I recently recieved the Pentax MZ-30 as a gift from my brother. I don't yet have any lenses for it and I have been scouting eBay for something suitable.
If anyone could recommend a great starter lens it would be much appreciated.

G'day and a warm welcome from Kangaroo Island.

If you post your question on the film or lens forum you'll get a flood of helpful opinions (probably more than you can handle). It would help if you let us know what sort of photography you're into - landscape, street, portraits, whatever - and what sort of budget you've got for this project. Also take a look at the lens reviews section to get an idea of what to avoid.
For what it's worth, I'd suggest starting with a standard 50mm f1.4. It's a good allround useful lens that will give you good, sharp images and will encourage you to use your feet and compose carefully. One of our members, MoisVous (a fellow Croweater) has compiled a list of where to get lenses and other gear in Australia. Check it out - I think it's in the Lenses forum.
