Hello from New Orleans

I've been reading pieces of this forum for a while now and I finally decided to join. I've had an ME for a few years and I love it, along with my collection of m lenses. I upgraded to a K20D and I'm going to need lots of good advice as I learn how to use it (along with my new computer). So please be patient because I'll probably have some real basic questions. I'm looking forward to learning from people who know quality photography when they see it.

Welcome to the forum. I love New Orleans. The mixture of modern and antique is definitely a unique one. I also love the rich musical history that lives and breathes in the city. I'm sure you will have a wealth of subjects to photograph! Here is a shot from The Spotted Cat, on Frenchmen St. It was taken with an old Pentax-A 50 1:2 manual lens and is one of my favorite shots to date:

Good luck and good shooting!

Welcome. I just got back from the Big Easy myself. You should easily recognize these, all taken with K20D and SMC-DA 12-24.

Do you happen to know the name of the band in the last picture? I want to say it is a band called "Loose Marbles" but I cannot see the clarinet player's face to be sure.

Welcome to the forum, Happy New Year.

You live in a wonderful city, when I was there earlier in the year I nearly ran out of memory cards and I've got loads of 'em.
