Hello from Far Northern California!

Hey everyone, I'm new here so I'll just pop in and say hi. I live in a dinky mountain town on the Upper Sacramento river, about an hour south of the Oregon border.

I recently got a k20 after learning that my kmounts were transferable between my k1000 & the digi....but I'm still a film-lover at heart. NOT that I have the slightest idea what I'm doing....I learned on a Kodak Ektra I got when I was 8. I'd really like to learn enough to be able to shoot more film than digital. Which is not currently the case. (..."delete. delete. delete.")

Looking forward to learning from all you pros out there!

Cheers,
Jen

Thanks!

I currently live inland, right near the base of Mount Shasta. About in the middle east-west....

Would be nice to figure out whether there are significantly more newcomers just after Christmas-Month..... Has such a thing ever been done?

Plantgirl (like your name!): welcome!

Welcome to the forums. That's a very scenic area up there. My brother and his wife go up to Mt. Shasta every now and then to visit the in-laws. They run an organic Japanese restaurant up there.

Thanks, y'all, for making me feel welcome. This is a great forum, from what I've seen.

Toshi, is that Vivify? I haven't been but everyone I know looooooves it. Will have to take my daughter, she is a Japan-o-phile & learning Japanese, but unfortunately, neither of us can handle seaweed!

G'day, Jen and welcome to the friendliest forum on the planet. Check out the film slr section - you'll find find a huge amount of expertise and a bunch of real film enthusiasts. (I'm in the latter bunch; definitely no expert!). Lots of us have been drifting back to film after some years away, or after unsatisfying encounters with the digital world. You'll be very welcome.
