Hi!
Ed Etzkorn here. I bought my Asahi Pentax Spotmatic in Vietnam in 1969. I'm a doctor now, but I was a "grunt" back then. The camera's taken me through Vietnam, into the Sierra Nevada, the California desert, New York, the Midwest, Montana, Florida, and back to Vietnam again. Over 6500 photos and still going strong.
My best Pentax story--my son and I reached the crest of a pass in the Sierra Nevada in 2001, and there we met a dozen members of a family planning to climb a peak. Some had altitude sickness, but all were vey upbeat. Which peak they were climbing, they did not know. Their uncle knew. On our way down the other side, we came across a man about my age who wore an Asahi Pentax SP around his neck. He was the uncle--he knew where they were going. He and I had an instant bonding--Pentax SP's strapped around our necks, both with a long history.
