They told me to post or else I'd be labelled suspicious. I can't seem to make my AF500FTZ flash as competent on the istDL as it was on the PZ20. I shoot in manual with F8 at 125. I mostly use bounce flash because pointing the flash directly at the subject produces overexposures. The on camera flash works well, but does not have the horsepower. Most of my forum time has been spent reading other experiences with flash unit.

Welcome from someone who virtually never uses a flash. It's an area I've never explored, so I look forward to seeing some of your contributions, now that you're "legal."

Welcome to the forum.The 500ftz isnt really compatible with pentax digitals but does work in auto mode.
