Hello from Seattle, USA

I've owned a Pentax K100D for just two days now. I have the kit lens as well as the DA 10-17mm fisheye and the DA 50-200mm. I have a fair amount of experience with an ancient (early 70s) Nikon F, with a wide variety of lenses and strange attachments (including a Speed Magny Polaroid back), but my digital experience is limited to a series of point and shoots - a Sony DSC-S30, a Minolta XTi, and a Panasonic DMC-FZ3.

Hi there Fnarf! Welcome!

If you have used your Panny in M mode often, then your transition to the K100D should be very quick. You've got two good starter lenses (kit and 50-200) and a very fun one (FE 10-17). Hope to see some photos soon!

Welcome to the forum Fnarf! Interesting name... and fun to say! The K100D is an awesome camera and you'll have no problems getting used to the digital thing. It's pretty much just like a film camera but you get to see the results right away!

Start clicking and posting the pictures so we can see!

Hello Fnarf,

As a newbie myself also I wish you welcome. This is a really nice forum and full of friendly people and smile!.

I visited your continent and Seattle last year in July. You have a really nice city, beautiful library, Top Pot donuts and great fish to eat. I was also able to go and see the Snoqualmie falls, mountains and of course I tasted the cherry pie with icecream in "Twin Peaks" coffee place ("Double R"). Really fun!

Warmest regards,

Hi Fnarf:

If you look over there <-----, you will see I have a 10-17 also. I sometimes see my left elbow in the 10mm shots if I'm not careful.

You will have fun with it.
