First DSLR!!!

Yup, It's true. After 40+ years of film photography I just took my first DSLR (K10D) off the front porch about two hours ago. Thank my lucky stars I found this fourm. I'm gonna need it!!!!

And these fora will give you all the help you can ever need and/or want. I went from 47 years of film Pentaxes to the k10d a year and a bit ago. It feels and acts like all the Pentaxes I have owned. Solid, reliable, and does exactly what I tell it to do - which is not necessarily what I wanted it to do. Welcome.

Welcome to the forum. I made the digital jump a little over a year ago with no regrets at all. I have shot more photos in the last year than the previous 5. You will love it. To start just move that lever on the upper right by the shutter to the on position.

Yeah, that's not a problem I had with my original Pentax.

It helps to start with a fully charged battery however!

Welcome Oldphoto!

Trust me, in a week or so you'll be wondering how you survived so long without a dslr!
