Hey Everyone,

Well, after a LONG process of trying to determine which camera was best for me I ended up purchasing a K200D yesterday. My old 2MP p&s kicked the bucket over a year ago, and the not having a camera thing just wasn't working for me anymore! I was doing my best to hold out until after the PMA show in March, since after the new product introductions I was anticipating a price drop. However, a visit to Henry's yesterday solidified my decision.

I had been sure of getting into a Nikon system until a couple months ago when I first picked up the pentax and subsequently read the specs online. Yesterday, I handled a D300 just before the K200D. And although the D300 is superior performance wise, the K200D just felt so much better to hold. On top of the comfort and price to feature ratio, the sales guy at Henry's informed me that the K200D was listed as no longer in production on their system. Not only that, they didn't have any in stock - and weren't sure if they'd be getting any more. I was also assured that the price I could get it for now (on sale at Black's Photo) is pretty much as low as it will go, even on clearance) - although I'm sure I saw it $50 cheaper a while ago. Anyway, I found one unit in a neighbouring city (at Henry's - I had gift certificates ) ... and the rest is history.

Wow, I'm rambling now. ... Anyway, I'm a complete DSLR newb, so I look forward to learning from you all, and hopefully contributing to the forum along the way!
