Hello from Northumberland, UK

I am Maureen and am fairly new to DSLR's. I bought my K10d off ebay just over a year ago because it was someone who lived just a few miles away who was selling it and I was able to go and see it. I am slowly getting used to it but having great fun. I've joined a camera club and take part in all their monthly challenges, only with moderate success but, hey, who cares! This is my retirement hobby!!

Greetings to all!

Hi Maureen, and welcome.
Not sure if it will help or not, but I have had my K10D about a year as well - and one thing I have discovered is that the best teacher is practice. (Second best are the members of these boards, of course!)
Spending a good bit of time with the owner's manual, Magic Lantern book, etc. is all fine, but the way to REALLY have things stick in your head is to go out and shoot.

Have fun!

Hi Maureen, and a big welcome from the other side of the world.

I've visited your part of England many times, and I've never regretted a minute of it!

I'm sure you'll find encouragement and good advice from the good people on this forum.

Cheers from Tasmania.

Aha! Dilston is way out in the sticks from here!! I'm only a mile inland from St Mary's lighthouse which is one of my favourite spots for taking photos.

Thanks to all for the welcomes - I have been out when the weather has been decent but I don't like the cold, being an 'oldie'!! by the way, I am actually a Scot, from Edinburgh originally, as you can see from my avatar!!!
