Hello from North Carolina

Hi everybody, I'm Greg but everyone calls me gb. I have several film cameras & develop my own b@w film. I also have set up a darkroom in a spare bathroom we have now that the boys have moved out I was given an old spotmatic (honeywell) with a super takumar 50/1.4. The mirror was locking up & after a look with the bottom plate off, I saw an arm hanging up. A small drop of oil fixed the problem & after firing the shutter nearly a hundred or so times the camera purrs like a kitten. Replacing the light seals helped also I'm sure. All I need to do now is clear up the lens. It is suffering from yellowing. I understand sunlight or a blacklight can render the problem. A google search on spotmatics is how I found this site. I can't wait to run a roll of film through it.
Cheers, gb

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Dasman I appreciate the thread on the yellow lens treatment. Saves me from having to start a new thread. A contact over on flickr removed the yellow in his by using a blacklight. Took about 2 weeks but it was clear. I have mine sunbathing right now. We'll see how that works. I'm hoping to start a photo project soon & I hope to shoot some Kodachrome in the Spotmatic.
