Greetings from Canada's east coast!

Good day, all. I've been lurking around here for a while and have decided to come out of the bushes. After many years of 35mm (strictly hobby) I made the shift to digital a few years back, to some pretty sophisticated point-and-shoots with super zooms, but always felt I was missing something. Then I grabbed a Pentax istD and a couple of lenses and it was like getting back to "real" photography again. However, I'm basically using it like my old 35 and not taking advantage of all the settings that the DSLR has to offer, so I'll be posting a couple of questions soon to try and understand these additional features.

Hi there, fellow east-coaster! I split my time between NS and NB. There's an Atlantic Canada group, you should join up - where there are enough members, there may be a gathering.

When did Relic move East?

I thought Relic was from the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia - that's where Molly's Reach is ...

Yeah, a lovely little spot. Is the restaurant still there? I know it was a few years back. Both coast are lovely. But the west coast has the best salmon. [Ducks to avoid salmon war.]

Hey, I'll admit the west coast has the best salmon. But we have the best lobster.
BTW, the name Relic was given to me when I had an aluminum boat in Halifax harbour that looked somewhat like Relic's jetboat.

I lived in Halifax as a child many moons ago. Lobster was both plentiful and relatively inexpensive. Could just go down to the piers and buy it off the boats, or at least from the tanks beside the boats.
