Finally. . .

Hi all-

Finally making the jump from the PS world- coming from a Konica-Minolta Z3, where I was used to using manual controls to get what I wanted. When I bought it 4 years ago, I couldn't quite justify the SLR jump, but I've gotten tired of bumping up against the limitations.

I've had my K200D for a couple of weeks now, and I'm having a blast! I picked up a 50mm 1.7 which is so fun. . . indoors, no flash, no problem! I also bought a Metz 48. . . my first experience with a REAL flash. Looking forward to playing with it wirelessly. Shopping for a telephoto, and thinking about macro capability, and that should keep me busy for a while!

I ended up with Pentax for the backwards compatibility of the lenses, the built in wireless support, and build quality of the body. I've been lurking here for a couple of months, figured it was time to join in, at least a little.

Welcome Mark, mine was a similar experience to yours, got fed up with not being able to take the pictures I wanted to with a P&S.
I hope you have nearly as much fun here as you are having with your camera.

BTW, I see that people collect lenses- when I bought the 50mm, the seller sent it in a silver/gray Takumar-A 2X teleconverter box, 30938. It is a little crunched but if anyone collects the matching boxes and wants it let me know.
