Another limey hits the forums !

Howdy all !

I've just leapt onto the DSLR wagon from P+S Fuji S5600, so real green around the gills, and hoping the help and guidance is better than i've found elsewhere.

Its a big learning curve, so i've discovered, but one thing i've already learnt is that i made the right choice going for a K10D, despite the small downfalls of slightly washed out images, and the less than stellar focus screen.

I havent got round to taking any real good pictures yet, though i've shot a few and have them on file. Maybe i should post them in the gallery, but not sure if i dare.

Good to be onboard

Pete

Post your images in the forum for sure. You would be surprised how much you could share your photography inspiration with us.

Welcome to the forum Pete! I'm also a K10 user and just a note about washed out photos, you can increase saturation as well as Sharpness and contrast in the first "Rec Mode" menu. That usually will fix any "wash out" you might experience.

Thanks for that tip Jim - Do you change ' Image Tone ' as well, or just the Bright / Sat /Cont. settings ?

Yes I do, I usually use the more vivid image tone. The nice thing about those settings are that you can tone up or tone down your image.

Nice shots and interesting as well as we don't see those breeds of birds in Australia, ours usually wear Bikinis.

Thats a good enough reason to emigrate to your fine country. Ours are always covered up, due to the predictably dull weather

Throwing a shrimp on the barbie here is tantamount to gambling - the second you plan anything outdoors is the day you wished you hadnt
