g'day from Melbourne, Australia

Hi, I'm David.

I was first introduced to Pentax when I enrolled at Swinburne Uni to study graphic design, way back in 1975! The Pentax SP1000 with standard F2 55mm lens was the 'kit' lens that all students bought. I loved photography but lapsed for years until I bought a Canon 350d ... sorry . Nevertheless, it gave me a chance to rediscover what great lenses Pentax made in those days. I now have a 70's collection of lovely Pentax primes and planning to see what they can do on a Canon 5D MkII.
My favourite is the Pentax SMC F1.4 50mm. With a Russian-made adapter that activates the focus sensor it's a breeze to use.
I live on Mount Dandenong, a pristine forest environment still considered part of metropolitan Melbourne.

bye for now

David

Greetings, I'm in North Melbourne. Into bird pics at all, there's some pretty decent options for both waterbirds and sundry lorikeets within the confines of Greater Melbourne.

Hi, thanks for your repsonse.
I don't particularly know much about birds but enjoy cycling along the Mt Dandenong creek bike path to Jells park (along Eastlink freeway). there are great wetlands there and some hides for observing the wildlife. I might spend some time doing timelapse or shoot birds.

Looking forward to what you find there in those wetlands. I've gone through that area many times on commutes to different jobs and some mornings I've seriously regretted not having a camera with me to get pics of the rising mists and early daylight.
