[Pentacon]

Just purchased K100D. My previous gear was Canon A60 and Olympus FE130. Also I own 30+ years old Praktica L with two primes, 50mm F1,8, Flektogon 20mm F2,8 and "Kenlock" zoom 70-220 F4. All with 42mm mount of course.

To get familiar with handling, I went out first day just after sunset. I used supplied Panasonic alkalines. Surprisingly, I have made over 280 shots (JPEGs)
before batteries went flat. I used landscape or auto picture setting, no
flash, shake reduction ON and autofocus ON, ISO set at AUTO and later at 800.

Despite low light conditions and long exposures, all pictures were sharp, none
was blurried.

Next two days I shoot aroud 500 photos in the mountains and at the seashore
mostly in "counterlight". I noticed some purple firing on corners.

At the moment, I am just discovering camera preferences in exposure. Seems
that K100 produces rather darker pictures compared to A60 or FE130, but this
is OK for me.

AE lck button is easily hit by accident, have to get used to avoid this. Also,
my new 2200mAh NiMh rechargebles "went flat" after 160 shots, then after a
minute or two, baterry indicator shows full charge, later again half drained
and so on, what makes me very worried. Outside temperature was around 20C. I noticed similar report on some other forum. Wonder what is all about,
performance on alkalines were so great.

At home I also made some test shots regarding continous shots. I photographed stop watch running and from photos find out that K100 shots first 3 shots in intervals around 0,35 sec, than two shots at 0,5 sec interval and consecutive shots in 1 to 1,2 sec interval.

Should be enough for my first post here, I will further inform you about other
interesting expiriences.
