Hi Guys, I'm VERY new to SLR and I'm quite impressed with what I've been doing so far with the DS. The reason why I'm getting a K200D, well since I owe my younger brother some money we agreed that I'll give him the camera and that will settle the debt since he loves the camera too! Hehe, I'm getting a K200D this Friday. Although it's used for about a year, I'm getting it for a reasonable $300, sounds good?

Anyway, my favorite setting I use most of the time is Av (Aperture Priority), with Select AF, and AF.C, and Auto AWB and occasionally Tungsten (I still need to figure out some of these). Anyone else got good ideas to make my pics come to life? So far my pics just look "life like" and from time to time could use a jolt of vividness but without taking away from the colors, anyone know what I mean? And I'm definitely oblivious to Photoshop, even though it's on my comp I never used it to any real extent. Lol it's just too hard.

Hi Ron,
without knowing your style I would suggest just to have a try with Google Picasa. Many people use it cause it is really intuitive to 'learn by doing' and it does read PEF files and it is freeware and and and... :-)
Try to play with the highlight vs. brightness vs. shadows sliders (and the saturation after that) and I would guess most of the time you will get what you are looking for.
I too am considering upgrading my camera from K100D to the K200D, would love to hear from your experience if there's a big difference (I'd think not).
