Hello from sunny Las vegas, NV

My name is Oscar and I hail from a wacky yet wonderful town known as Brooklyn,
New York. I am child of the 60's and 70's and unfortunately still kind of stuck back there. Change has never been one of my strong points but, I do love the direction photography has taken these past few years. I am especially excited about the ablity to create and to experiment with this fairly new technology. Never having a darkroom of my own due to expense and space issues, I can now persue what has been a lifelong dream and become a serious photographer. Judging from what I've seen on this site, Pentaxians are a well informed and passionate lot. I hope to be the same someday. Cheers all, Oscar.

Howdy Oscar!! I am just across the street in CA near Santa Barbara. I get to be the first to welcome someone!!

So, welcome. I have only been here for a few weeks but can tell you the folks here are just fun and helpful as can be.

I too am new to Pentax digital, though I shot with an ME Super for years in the early 80s. I came seeking info on the K7 and these, ahem, 'kind' folks got me talked into buying something NOW rather than wait until the price for the K7 dropped. So, since I already had LBA (lens buying addiction) big time I just started selling the old Canon gear and adding more Pentax gear for a few days.

I think you will really enjoy the creative control the Pentax line-up offers. More of my shots look like regular film shots than they ever did with Canon gear. Dunno if it is the gear or that I am very comfy with the brand, who cares, I like it!! I think you will as well, especially all the older lenses that can be found and still used on the modern bodies.
