Formal Hello

Hello!

I'm Paul. Serge referred me. Some of you may know him as "Gooshin". That's how his surname is pronounced. Feel free to check out my website; a link is provided in my signature.

You can't tell from reading the first paragraph, but I'm doing a bit of espionage on Pentax at the moment... and on you. I'm a Canon user. I'm not obsessed though. Equipment is equipment, and creativity doesn't stem from the brand a photographer is affiliated with. Are any of you gear-heads, or perhaps equipment-curious? I don't have as much stuff as some of you may, as Canon tends to be more expensive, and the lenses especially so. The Pentax bunch has wide array of old lenses to choose from: I have little choice of anything that's worth while. Here it goes:

Cameras:
EOS 30D
Elan II (being retired, because of...)
Elan 7e

Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta 533/16. Family heirloom, of the kind that nobody but I cares for. It's flare prone.

Lenses:
EF 50mm f1.4
EF 35mm f1.4
EF 70-200mm f2.8
EF 15mm f2.8 fisheye
Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6
EF 16-35mm f2.8 II
EF 17-85mm f4-5.6

I also have a Sekonic spot meter. I'm a firm believer in metering with external meters. This allows me to control exposure precisely, without relying on the camera's guesses. I rarely use my digital camera, as I shoot film now. Shooting film guarantees that I'm always using the most up-to-date technology it offers, despite having a potentially aging body. See you around,

Welcome to the forum Paul, any friend of Serge is (tentatively ) a friend of ours.
I'm sure you'll make some great contacts in the film section here.
