Old dogs and new tricks

Film geek here .Earn my living at this (over30 years.) Made the jump to digital with a Minolta d7, on to an a2 and than to the a200. About the time I was beginning to get the hang of the digital world Minolta went belly up. Shot Pentex profesionally for over 20 years and had some pretty fair lenses , so, a K10D made sense. Now trying to learn it. Having a problem with focusing my non AF lenses' eyes are not what they used to be ,so ,you will no doubt see a bunch hit the for sale page. Will miss them dearly ,but it looks like AF is my future. I edit several national magazines and buy lots of wildlife photos. Mostly predators(wolf coyote bobcat fox etc) Always on the lookout for new talent. Great forum, have learned a lot. please excuse what will no doubt be some dumb questions and bear with me as I learn to navigate here, us old farts, (whoops, that's not pc,) say vintage flatulents, aren't very techy. Hello to all.

Before you dump your old manual focus glass you might try the magnifying loupe accessory for the camera (it fits all Pentax DSLRs). I find it gives me just enough edge to focus some of my old M and A lenses. It's not too good with glasses, tho.

Welcome!

Welcome to the forum, hopefully you'll figure out a way to keep that Pentax glass. I'm sure several people will have ideas for you. There are some very talented wildlife photographers here, so you might find some of that new talent you're looking for. I have a Siberian Husky that looks a lot like a wolf, but I'm guessing that's not what you're looking for!
