Hello All,

I've been a Pentax owner since I got a K1000 in 1982. I was always impressed with that camera, simple yet very rugged. It fell off a pick up going about 30 mph and still took great pictures afterward. I still own it altough I haven't shot film in years.

I am now the owner of a K2000. Still learning the camera and I've gotten alot of good advice reading these forums. I have some questions about certain settings but I'll post those in the appropriate forum.

Stoge, I used to do a lot of hiking out your way, I love that part of Virginia.

Odd you should ask. I am a crew member on the three 17th century ships out of Jamestown - the Discovery, Godspeed and Susan Constant. That's the only sailing I do. I was fortunate to be part of the crew which sailed the "new" Godspeed from Rockport Maine where it was constructed to Jamestown and then take it on an 80 day sail up the east coast to be put on display at various ports. I guess you are a sailor by your question. I wouldn't know how to act on anything but a squarerigger.

I was on the Godspeed when it was in Alexandria, we spent the day, and went on the tour of the ship. All you folks are welcome to look me up if you wander out this way. ----Stoge

Squarerigger, That trip sounds like the adventure of a lifetime! Hope the crew got served something better than salt pork, hard tack and grog!

Welcome to the forum, I'm not sure that's quite what they meant when they said give the camera a "good road test".
