Howdy from NC

Hey all,

Just joined as I'm getting back into photography more seriously. Had been doing B/W darkroom back in the early 80's shooting a Ricoh KR-5, and just picked up a
K1000 from Craigslist. Ahh...the feel of an SLR over the point and shoot I've been using. So...do I go for the K20D or try and wait to see if the K7 will come down in price? Thoughts from users of both greatly appreciated as I haven't gotten to read all the threads yet, but I'm liking the lens review pages - keeping my eyes peeled for a Goodwill or pawn shop find.

Looking forward to learning much and hopefully contribute in some small way, so I thought I'd attach a photo I would have submitted for the August Lines and Textures contest. Since it was shot with an Olympus Stylus 1010, it's disqualified, but lemme know what you think. Very minimal post shot processing (just a little to the blacks and whites levels). Hope I resized it right for the forum.

John

Welcome John, I think it would have come out a lot better if you took it with a Pentax.

Welcome here John.
You can't go wrong with either the K20D or the K-7, just depends on your budget and whether you really want the extra video capabilities of the K-7.

Lots of opinions here in the forum on this very issue - have a search around for more info.
Enjoy your time here.
