Hello to all,

My name is John, and I'm a semi retired engineer from Auckland, New Zealand. I've been looking at this site for a while and finally decided to take the plunge and join, as I am getting back into photography as a serious hobby again after a while away. I currently have a Sony DSC-R1 which is capable of excellent results, but ofcourse is not a system camera and so I am going to build up a new system and am looking seriously at the Pentax gear. With that in mind, I have posted a question under the Lens discussion for your help, as I think there are a lot of experienced people here.

My missus had the older version of that camera that could swivel and it could take great photos.

Anyway, Sony aside, good luck with you purchase and welcome to the forum.
