DSLR Newbie

Hey all, I'm glad I found this forum. I'm a total newbie to DSLR's and only have a little background with 35mm slr's. Been mostly a point and shoot guy. But with a grandchild now I figured it was time to up the ante and I went out and picked up a Pentax K2000. Going to take a bit of reading to get me off the "auto" mode but that's why I'm here.
