Hello from Belgium

Hi

My name is Luc and I'm a long-time amateur photog. Used to use old Canon gear from the AE-1 and AV-1 series but this year took the plunge and switched to Pentax for my first DSLR because this brand provides me with backward compatibility with lots of older lenses.
I already had a small P&S Pentax Optio digicam but I soon discovered a serious interest in older Pentax stuff as well... I picked up a number of Spotmatics (SP, SPII, SP500, SP1000) mainly to get the Takumars that came with them. For film with M42 lenses I prefer more modern bodies so I got myself both a Chinon CEII Memotron and a Cosina Hi-Lite EC bodies - these have more modern electronic shutters and lightmeters that provide AE functionality with my old Takumars.
I have a sh***y M42<>K adapter and still looking for a better one to use more old lenses on the K-M too.

Hope to get some fun here reading you guys and posting from time to time

Hi Luc.
Welcome to the club.
Enjoy the old lenses with the new bodies, and do post some images from your side of the world once in a while.

Most of the M42<>K adapters are pretty dodgey. I took the little tab off mine and just leave it on the lens. Although, I probably wouldn't advise it if you want you use your old lenses on your film bodies.

Glad to have you with us and welcome.
