Newbie Canadian

Hi All,

I'm a long-time lurker here who has *finally* decided to de-lurk and join the fun. I've intended to join for a while - but what finally pushed me over the edge was seeing a thread discussing an actual camera I had just purchased locally on craigslist. I came to the forum to get a review / look for a manual, and there was the very camera I had just purchased. Too weird.

About me: I've been a Pentax user since I was 16 (now 35). Pentax was my first "real camera" - it was an ME Super. Back then I had a the M50/2 and a Vivitar Series 1 28-90mm f2.8. The Vivitar was a great lens - miss that one. It bit the dust on an overseas trip.

In university I picked up a Konica Auto S2 (leaf shutter, fixed-lens rangefinder) for a song at a thrift store and caught the Hexanon bug. So, I have CBA and LBA for two systems...

I've also signed up because I have some excess gear to sell. Look for some posts in the marketplace soon...

Welcome Gabriel.
Look forward to seeing what you have on offer.
A long term Pentaxian - great stuff. What are you using in Pentax now?
Enjoy the forum!

Hi Ash,

Right now I'm using a K2, Chinon CE-4, and a SP1000. For lenses: S-M-C T 55/2, K50/1.4, K200/4, M50/1.7, and Tamron Adaptall-2 24/2.5, 28/2.5, and SP 35~80/2.8~3.8

I think I'll be letting the K200/4 and the Chinon go - the K2 is the new kid on the block, and it came with the K200/4. I never use this focal length, so better it go somewhere where it will be loved. The Chinon is like a "better" ME Super - has DoF preview and a multiple exposure lever.

Welcome to the forum, de-lurked now there's a phrase to conjure with, it's a bit sorta Sci Fi as in de-cloaked.
