Hi -- my name is Greg, I am a Joomla web developer from the Atlanta suburbs and I am just getting back into photography after many years. Prior to my Nikon D60 my camera was a Minolta SRT-101( I think that was the model). Although the Nikon is a great beginners DSLR I've been chomping at the bit to be able to do a little more. 2 of my lenses are Nikon VR's the other isn't and needless to say the VR really comes in handy. I almost need it. I've been looking into Pentax for awhileand since the K-7 announcement I've been very much intrigued by this camera.

Welcome Greg.
You'll also be pleased with Pentax's in-body stabilisation feature (SR) that is reasonably close to Nikon's VR in effectiveness, but also means that you don't have to spend a fortune on lenses to get SR - it's already built in.

As a catfishin' machine... I have to ask what the 252 means? 252lbs?

I have caught some big ones, but I am a bit shy of the 252 mark! I had some +250 lber's on but dang if the line did not break

Welcome from a fellow ATL resident! The K7 is an awesome camera. Either way you look at it though everyone here is passionate about photography and I'm sure you will find yourself right at home.
