....in fact, I'm so new I don't even have a camera yet. I've been researching cameras for months and finally made my decision. I have a "notify me" on file with B&H to let me know the minute I can buy the K-X with the two lens kit.
Looking at some to the pics on this forum helped me make that decision. I've never owned a DSLR. Long ago I owned Olympus 35mm cameras and lenses that were great. I looked closely at the E-620 but finally realized the K-X will be the best for my needs.
I'm looking forward to learning to use the camera. Also, I couldn't help but notice the friendly atmosphere here on this forum.
Welcome and great choice in camera for your first dSLR - it seems to be a winning entry-level camera.
Hope you find all the info you need on the forum, and be sure to look through the lens review database as those things will be the next items you'll be lusting after!
As a former long time Olympus user, I can see how that would be a tough choice. The E-620 is a great camera. Pentax has a lot to offer. I am happy with my switch to Pentax for the most part. While I am not interested in the K-X, it does appear to be an excellent choice with some great features. I think you can't go wrong as a great point to jump in. Pair the kit lens (or lens) with a fast manual focus 50mm and a hot shoe flash, and you'll be set for awhile. Good luck!
