Thanks, PT! Hey, it's all about Art; how can there be competition?
Matt, the SP (so help me, "Super Performance") lenses in the Tamron line can be exceptional. I particularly like the 35-80. It has a way of rendering images is that relatively easy to see but tough to describe. The balance of resolution and contrast seems just 'right' so you get lots of detail without being hit over the head with it. Also, the bokeh is very smooth.
Like you I'm moving to Pentax to get SR with
every lens, not just the ones Canon deigns to endow with IS at exorbitant prices. Add proper function of my Tamrons and other MF lenses and woo-hoo! EOS treats non-EF lenses like dirt.
I'm still trying to decide between the K100D and the K10D. I suspect there a more than a couple threads on that subject buried in the archives!
