Greetings, from Oaktown, California

Hi everyone, I'm new to photography and have been at it for about a year. My first camera was a Canon Powershot S5 IS. My first Dslr was a Pentax K100D Super which I still own. I just recently upgraded to a K10D and I'm looking to move up to either the K200D or K20D or maybe even both. I do mostly landscapes and nature shots, but I would like to move into portraits. I am glad to be a part of such a wonderful group of photographers. I'm sure with all your help and support my skills will continue to grow!!!! Proud to be a new member of the Pentax family! (As soon as I figure out how to post photos I'll post a few)
Thanks, MiBow

Welcome MiBow. This forum is full of enthusiasts as yourself.
Having the K10D already, you may not find the K200D much of an upgrade, but the K20D is a decent step up from the K10D, giving you an advantage with high ISO capabilities.

Your A 50/1.7 would come in handy for your portraits - does well for single or couple portraits. Full body or group portraits would need a slightly wider lens, and your 28mm prime could well be a good option there.

Look forward to your photos. See here for a tutorial on how to do so:

Welcome to the forum and I'd have to say I agree with Ash on this.

Hello MiBow!

I just joined the site. I just picked up my first DSLR - a K110D. I have been shooting with Minolta 35mm manual focus and Mamiya 645 equipment for a few years. I am located in your neighborhood - in Lafayette It sounds like we are into the same subject matter too If you would like to shoot together sometime or just talk gear (a guilty pleasure) drop me a line
