I have owned an *ist DS for 5 yreas+ now, and it continues to serve me well. I used a Tamron 28-75/2.8 for almost 4 of the last 5 years (exclusively), and now have found the smaller and lighter 28/2.8 SMC A lens, adn that has not left the camera. I have an older 70-105/3.5 Spiratone (me thinks) that I have used very sparingly (it has its uses), and a SMC 50/1.7 that has seen its use for portrature until it got displaced by the Tammy.

I buy my lenses on a whim. My list of future buys will incude a wideer angle lens, and a longer zoom. One day, I'll be good enough to shoot for others , not to supplement my income, but because I can...

Welcome to the forum. Be careful with the LBA (lens buying addiction), it can get very expensive.
