another K10D, this one hails from Seattle :)

Hello Pentax forums I've been reading (a polite way of saying, "sucking up any and all info") your wisdom here for the past couple of months and decided I should actually register :P What a fantastic group here - it's always refreshing to come across an internet community that is courteous, educates and encourages each other. It takes conscious intent to make a community with that tone
I'm pretty new to photography, started a couple of years ago with a Canon Rebel and moved up to my Pentax K10 this spring. Boy do I love this camera Seattle is full of art, parks, birds, lakes, mountain views, ocean and flowers - there's always something to shoot here, though my kids groan when I bring the camera cause I'll "slow them down." Ha! Could anything be slower on a hike than 2 boys who must sword fight or investigate fungus or hide in the trees?
I've enjoyed the international nature of the people and their photos here! I feel like mine will be very boring by comparison, but I'll give it a go Great to be here and I look forward to getting to know you all.

Some dormant marsh grass in Seattle's Arboretum park this evening taken with the M 50mm 1.7 Some post processing in Lightbox playing with desaturating the image somewhat. Usually I process in GIMP or Bibble, but I always enjoy new processing software!

Welcome here ecaterin,
The K10D remains an excellent camera in today's standards and will give you years of quality shooting.
Hope you enjoy your time here - look forward to seeing more of the picturesque sights of Seattle through your lenses.

Welcome to the forum! Hope you enjoy your stay. I have a K10D too. Got mine back when it first came out and I still love it. Get yourself a battery grip to go with it, you won't regret it.
