I have just ordered a Pentax K-7, and picked up a few lenses to go with it. I'm looking for advice on what other lenses I will need. I basically want to be ready for any situation (while also realizing I have a finite budget and can't carry 300 lbs of gear with me)
Here's what I have (well, will have actually, since the k7 hasn't actually arrived yet)
Pentax 15-55 WR (kit lens with camera)
Sigma 400/f5.6 AF
Takumar 135/f2.5 bayonet mount
Pentax 28-90 FA lens
Pentax 28-80 FA lens
I'm thinking perhaps a longer zoom ie. a pentax 80-320?
Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Jake
You could do a lot worse than the WR 50-200 which will give you weather resistance across a wide focal range, and has come down in price a lot (at least in UK). Better image quality would come from the 55-300 DA, which I suspect would significantly outperform older zooms covering a similar range. Best bang for bucks if you don't mind processing out some purple fringing is the Tamron 70-300.
