Why am I here?

Am a long time Pentax "fan" (since 1965) and even SOLD Pentax in the 80s! But am now retired (photography is now "only a hobby") and for personal use (and reasons) I currently am using non-Pentax digital cameras (non-DSLR by the way!). I have been "following" Pentax digital camera progress and have not completely "ruled out" a Pentax DSLR (the K-7 AND the K-x BOTH look good "from here"!!). A "sub-hobby" of mine is "getting non-pro, non-DSLR cameras to do 'tricks' that 'they were never intended to do'(!)"...all of which sort of leaves me out of posting (personal) images taken with a Pentax!! [UNLESS I "go back in time" and actually shoot some FILM with my Pentax 35mm SLR film cameras!]
"In any event" I'm here now (there's no turning back!) so "Hello, everybody!"...
BTW, am "out there" at Flickr & PhotoCamel under the Normpixel "label"!!
...Normpixel...

Why not posting some old images from the time you were using Pentax materials. I Hope it will be possible. Probably you have some treasures in your shelves and boxes...I don't know.

I'm guessing you are here because deep down you would love a K-7

Welcome and we hope you enjoy yourself here.

Right! You know Iris that I'm using non-Pentax material too. I talked about some nice shots with "vintage" look, from a time I wasn't there and Normpixel was making pictures already

(already with the best lens coating available)

Happy New Year! and Thanks for the WELCOME!

Happy New Year, everybody! Thanks for the WELCOME!! Thought I'd better get back and see who got new Pentax cameras for Christmas!
Actually I was reading a thread about f1.2 lenses and "remembered" why I don't have a Pentax DSLR (yet)... NO FULL-FRAMER(yet)! I'd like my 20mm "wide" to be WIDE and my f1.2 to STAY "50mm"!!
Still the "idea" of an f1.2 75mm (equiv.) on an image stabilized body using noise-free "high" ISOs has a certain appeal...
Meanwhile, while I'm "warming up" to these ideas (currently it's 7 degrees F.), I thought I'd (try to) post a non-Pentax "grab shot" (taken with a Fuji "pocket" digital) of my "thoroughly classic" antique Pentax K2 with the 50 on it (and my K1000 SE).
How are your DSLRs AND YOUR BATTERIES "holding up" in 7 degree and LOWER temperatures??

Well, fractal... The K-x is probably where I'd "go first" UNLESS Pentax "goes wild" and turns loose a FULL-FRAME ("all bells & whistles") with 3:2 AND other "format" options.

Will attempt to post this "scan of a scan" taken in Washington several years ago using Kodak Ultracolor in the Pentax K2 with a 20mm Pentax wideangle.

I Fahrenheit you mean?
I don't know, I only tested my K-7 at -5 degrees Celsius (23 F.?) and that's working fine (or at least my camera and batteries are working fine )
