Hi and snap-py new year!

I want to share my new year wishes with the community for my first post.

It's a great image I made with the MX and famous 31mm... Hope you will enjoy to lose yourself in the image. It's just a scan from negative, the silver print is...better !-)

the picture is called "forced walks".

It's the kind of photography I like the most.
It suits me well. I don't need a lot of material, no zooms, just composition and manual everything...
I love my LX and MX for this sport. Now It's with the FA 31mm but I had the 28mm 3.5 M and it was excellent.

I enjoyed it very much....still not finished putting my pictures on the blog!
But after that holiday I was convinced I was ready for my first dslr, so I bought the K-7!

I'm also attracted by the K-7...Or the K-X with a little 21mm (but there is a little more distortion than on my 31mm...that's why I stick to my old film cameras, for the angle of view with the wide aperture of 1.8...). When I need digital for fast work or things I care less I use the K20D...because my negatives (colors and B&W) are well classified with contact sheets for the B&W...I like that.

I noticed you have a 28mm 3.5 M. I had one before the 31 and it's a fantastic lens! those images were made with the 28mm. Hope you enjoy it like me

I wanted a weather resistant camera, I am a biologist and a lot outside, so that ruled out the K-x. The K20d is a bit to heavy for my small hands!

Really recently (this Monday) I bought that lens from a friend. But I tested the lens already in December (my first snow pictures). As you can see I like the lens

I found the resolution impressive, the size is perfect, excellent construction...probably I'll go for the K version next time I see one because it was really good.
Just a detail I liked the front glass shape, don't know why...with the 31mm I can make everything I want - it's my point of view - but this 28 was a lot lighter...I have to repeat myself that I don't need shelves full of lenses. It's already too much!

In pentax SMC:
31FA, 35K 2,40M 2.8, 55K 1.8, 85M 2, 200M 4,
one tamron 90mm SP, 80-210 chinon.
I think I have all I need for everything I want. My girlfriend is using mostly her 50 1.2 K, the Tamron 90 SP and sometimes the 85M 2.
3 bodies: 2 LX, 1 MX (above), 1 K20D

She is in her 3rd year of Photography classes and began with the lovely LX and 50M 1.7 that I bought for her as a present. We are young but everything we need is already on the shelve for any special idea.
She is more attracted by landscapes, architecture and portraits, that's why she begin her work from 50mm to 135 (and 6X6 or 35mm cropped in square) and I'm using from 28 to 50mm. I think we are well adjusted...
